Farscan is looking for a highly-skilled Web Developer with a
passion for creating exciting applications for our new
Kochi (India) office.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, Develop & Test complex web based applications for mobile and desktop
clients.
- Build & Manage stand-alone E-Commerce and/or Web 2.0 websites with rich media
content.
- Create new web based applications and Update existing
applications.
- Teleconference with clients & US team to discuss functionality.
Requirements for the Web Developer position include:
- 3-4 years’ Experience of database driven web application development with the
following;
- Expert knowledge of PHP, including
knowledge of object-oriented programming
- Solid background in MySQL and
expertise in working with applications that interface with multiple databases
and tables

Java OR C++ programming background is ideal
- SQL Database administration and performance
tuning knowledge
- Proficiency in at least one of the following areas;
- Expert knowledge of PHP,
including knowledge of object-oriented programming in PHP, HTML/CSS and JavaScript (raw JS,
AJAX, jQuery, YUI, etc.).
- Mobile or handheld platforms - Objective-C, Cocoa Touch or Android

Experience developing or leveraging social networking applications, APIs, and
mash-ups

E-Commerce platforms such as OS-Commerce, Magento and/or
Amazon WebStore
- Practical knowledge of software development life cycle

Ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities and meet
challenging deadlines in a rapid application development environment.
- Strong
written and oral English communication skills Attention to detail and the
ability to interface with customers and various departments within an enterprise
-
Aptitude with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT, etc.)
- Degree
in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Meticulous
ability to document own code and knowledge transfer to off-site teams at various
development phases
- Ability to work productively and efficiently with minimal
supervision
